As reported by davide on YaCy forums (
http://forum.yacy-websuche.de/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=6004 ) when the
system is on high load, unless reading carefully YaCy configuration
file, it could be difficult to understand why remote search results are
not fetched.
- ensure use of HTTP POST method : HTTP GET should only be used for
information retrieval and not to perform server side effect operations
(see HTTP standard https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7231#section-4.2.1)
- a transaction token is now required for these administrative form
submissions to ensure the request can not be included in an external
site and performed silently/by mistake by the user browser
in intranets and the internet can now choose to appear as Googlebot.
This is an essential necessity to be able to compete in the field of
commercial search appliances, since most web pages are these days
optimized only for Google and no other search platform any more. All
commercial search engine providers have a built-in fake-Google User
Agent to be able to get the same search index as Google can do. Without
the resistance against obeying to robots.txt in this case, no
competition is possible any more. YaCy will always obey the robots.txt
when it is used for crawling the web in a peer-to-peer network, but to
establish a Search Appliance (like a Google Search Appliance, GSA) it is
necessary to be able to behave exactly like a Google crawler.
With this change, you will be able to switch the user agent when portal
or intranet mode is selected on per-crawl-start basis. Every crawl start
can have a different user agent.
or will be superfluous or subject of complete redesign after the
migration to solr. Removing these things now will make the transition to
solr more simple.
- added option to set minimum crawl delta for domains in balancer
- added default values to crawl deltas in yacy.init
- added configuration for these deltas in performance queues
- enhanced performance setting computation (more time for indexing queue for a faster flush
- remote crawling is now enabled during local crawling if indexer has space and time for more links
- added database stub for new distributed file system
- refactoring of time computation to get an abstraction level that will be used by a TTL rule in new distributed file system

- concurrency for LURL-fetching: this can be done using a concurrent lookup into the separated url databases. Concurrency is possible because there is no IO during lookup. The more LURL-Tables are present, the better is the speedup. More CPUs will increase speed
- because a large number of LURL-lookups are made during crawling (for double-check), the LURL-Lookup speed enhancements enhances also crawling speed
- search speed also profits from LURL-lookup enhancement
- changed some flushing parameters in word index caching which should make better use of large word index caches and should speed up indexing
- removed flush chunksize parameter, because this was only useful for IO path enhancement feature which was removed some weeks ago to prevent blocking and deadlocks during search requests

- added new system update configuration page
- moved system update from status page to system udate page
- moved shutdown and restart from status page to main menu
- added new configuration properties to yacy.init (not yet actively used)
- added some methods to handle new automatic update process

- permanent cache flush is switched off. The optimized cache flush
works better if it is a large number of collections that is flushed
together
- the flush size can be configured instead the flush divisor. There is
only one size for all flushes
- collection records that shall be removed during collection transition
(jump from one collection file to another) are now not really removed
but only marked in RAM. add-operations to the collection use these
marked collection spaces
- index bulk write operations are now separated for each file of a kelondroFlex

- use <label>s in Performance-pages
- <form accept-charset="ascii">-workaround for utf-8-problems in webforms
- fixed some xhtml problems in yacysearch.html

- added logging of reducing word-cache (log-level fine)
- disabled memprereq field in PerformanceQueues_p.html, because it is now set by the collections db
- minor changes to ConfigSkins / -Language

- generalized object caching and added new object caching class
- added object caching wherever kelondroTree was used
- added object caching also to usage of kelondroFlex
- added object buffering (a write cache) to NURLs
- added many assert statements; fixed bugs here and there
- added missing close methods to latest added classes

there are now two full-controlled caches for incoming indexes:
- dhtIn
- dhtOut
during indexing, all indexes that shall not be transported to remote peers
because they belong to the own peer are stored to dhtIn. It is furthermore
ensured that received indexes are not again transmitted to other peers
directly. They may, however be transmitted later if the network grows.

If you don't use the default skin, the style will be broken or at least not complete.
YaCy now has two css-files: base.css in htroot/env and the skin. In base.css the layout and black/white text-formating-rules are defined. Colors are only defined in the skin.
The skin is now very easy to read and to change. If you want to make more changes than the colors you see in the default-skin, feel free to use the full power of css, but you are warned: The code is still not ready and may change, but we try to avoid changes which affect anything in the default-style.
Translation will be broken too because the language-files contain HTML-Code which has changed.
